Philosophy explores fundamental questions about our existence and relation to others, through the rigorous development of skills of reasoning, argumentation, and communication. In this program you will build a solid background in philosophy and apply these skills to important debates about law, legal reasoning, constitutions, punishment, individual liberty, and international law. You will also examine the moral and political values that underlie legal institutions and give rise to heated controversies.
