Master of Indigenous Studies

About this programme

The Master of Indigenous Studies (MIndS) focuses on Indigenous peoples' unique bodies of knowledge about customary, environmental and cultural practices. It involves one core and two elective papers, and submission of a supervised research report.

Entry requirements

• Admission to a taught master's or postgraduate programme normally requires a recognised bachelor's degree in the same or a closely related field. Otago generally expects a sound academic record — most programmes look for at least a B average (commonly B+ or better) in the relevant prior study; some professional programmes also require work experience or professional registration. Entry standards vary by department, and applicants must meet the university's English-language requirements.
