Master of Chaplaincy

About this programme

The Master of Chaplaincy (MChap) is designed as a professional qualification for those who serve as chaplains in a variety of settings and who seek advanced professional education to enhance their work, and for those who want to train to be chaplains. The programme consists of six 400-level papers and a research project.

Entry requirements

• Admission to a taught master's or postgraduate programme normally requires a recognised bachelor's degree in the same or a closely related field. Otago generally expects a sound academic record — most programmes look for at least a B average (commonly B+ or better) in the relevant prior study; some professional programmes also require work experience or professional registration. Entry standards vary by department, and applicants must meet the university's English-language requirements.
