Entry requirements

PhD applicants normally need a master's degree, or a bachelor's degree with first- or upper-second-class honours (or equivalent), with an overall average of about B+ or better; a qualifying master's should include a substantial research component. Admission also depends on submitting a research proposal (a preliminary topic and roughly 500-word outline) and securing a suitable academic supervisor and departmental support. Prospective international students should contact the International Office early and must meet the university's English-language requirements.
