Entry requirements

• 'Our official language of communication and instructions for international students at KAIST is English' - and graduate students 'don't need to learn the Korean language to fulfill their graduation requirements.' Citizenship: 'Applicants must be citizens of countries other than Korea.' Degree: Bachelor's (or equivalent) for Master's / Master's-Ph.D. integrated;
• Master's for Ph.D. English (one of): TOEFL iBT 83 (before Jan 21, 2026; 4.5 rescaled thereafter) / IELTS Academic 6.5 / TOEIC 720 Listening & Reading / TEPS 326
• TOEFL Home Edition and IELTS Online are accepted for graduate admission. Waivers: citizenship-based (19 anglophone countries) or an English-medium-degree certificate (43 listed countries). No TOPIK requirement is published for graduate admission.
