Programme structure Purpose and goals The Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine & Surgery (BVMS) programme is based on integration of clinical and science subject areas and is delivered using a range of teaching methods. The spiral course structure means that you will revisit topics as you progress through the programme, each time with increasing clinical focus. In conjunction, there is a vertical theme of professional and clinical skills development to help you acquire the personal qualities and skills you will need in professional environments. By engaging in active, blended, and collaborative learning, you will gain the skills and confidence needed for lifelong, independent learning. Entry requirements for entry in 2027 Summary of entry requirements for Veterinary Medicine & Surgery Scottish Higher Entry Requirements (by end of S6) AAAAB Higher at end of S5 + BB Advanced Higher Additional requirements: Highers Chemistry, Biology and Physics or Mathematics. Advanced Higher Chemistry and either Biology, Mathematics or Physics. Practical experience. Interview. Advanced Higher Biology is recommended as this would be beneficial for the first year of the course.
