About this programme

The Medical School generates and sustains excellence in education and research in a friendly, supportive and stimulating environment. Students gain experience in clinical environments throughout the West of Scotland, including the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The MBChB is a five-year degree (UCAS code A100) following a spiral curriculum with seven phases, two elective periods, and over 20 intercalated degree options.

Entry requirements

Scottish Higher: AAAAB in S5 + BB Advanced Higher in S6, with Higher Chemistry, Biology and Physics or Mathematics, National 5 English at grade B, UCAT, and interview. UK A-level: AAA including Chemistry and one of Biology, Physics or Mathematics, GCSE English and Biology at grade B/6, UCAT, and interview. IB: 38 points (6,6,6 HL) with HL Chemistry and Biology, UCAT, and interview. Graduate entry requires a minimum 2.1 Honours degree in a relevant science obtained within seven years of entry. Health and police checks required before commencing.
