Integrating theory and practice, the Master of Science in Applied Languages and Intercultural Studies degree departs from traditional models of literary analysis and teaching methodology of most US institutions to prepare students of diverse career orientations, including non-profit, government and business sectors, to apply professional-level communication and critical intercultural skills necessary for negotiating within and between the social, technological and political contexts of other cultures and toward understanding the local impacts of globalization and the complex interdependent issues of sustainable development.
