About this programme

As Ireland’s population continues to grow and diversify, we aim to promote inclusion and embrace diversity. People are often marginalised due to poverty, ethnicity, addiction, gender identity, illness or disability, which places them at risk of poor health outcomes. You will examine inequities and develop the knowledge and skillset to respond to them. You will also learn how to promote community health engagement and social wellbeing, and provide leadership in this field. Many of our students come from a health or social care backgrounds or work with marginalised populations, you will therefore benefit from group discussion and hands-on learning involving a variety of disciplines and perspectives. When you graduate, you will be sought after in a range of sectors including health and social care settings, health promotion, health-related statutory services, non-governmental organisations and in policy making.
