• About the donor Mr Merlie (Merl) Ivy Merchant (Donor) (1921-2013) wa a fiercely independent woman who graduated from the Univer ity of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Art degree in 1957.
• Throughout her career Merl worked a a librarian for Telecom.
• Upon retirement, he continued to work a an honorary librarian for the Lyceum Club, the Naval and Military Club and the RSL.
• She remained a lifelong and active member of the Lyceum Club where he pent a lot of time expre ing her opinion and di cu ing ocial idea .
