- Certificate of enrollment from an MOE-accredited university's Mandarin Chinese Learning Center, showing 4 months completed and registration for at least 3 more
- Attendance of no fewer than 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Passport valid at least 6 months with blank pages (plus one photocopy)
- Health certificate issued within 3 months by a designated hospital
- Two white-background passport photos (45mm x 35mm) taken within 6 months
- Online application form from visawebapp.boca.gov.tw, printed with barcode and signed
Working on this visa
No work right. ESA Art 50 grants the 20 hrs/week student work exemption only to degree-enrolled foreign students and overseas-Chinese/ethnic-Chinese students; Mandarin-course students fall in neither category, so part-time work is barred.
