What it is
Sweden's residence permit for visits longer than 90 days, for visiting family or friends, and the route used by parents of a resident who can no longer work (granted up to 12 months; ordinary visits 6, or 9 on special grounds). It does not give the right to work or settle, and does not count toward permanent residence. Note: Sweden does not offer a dedicated retirement visa; long-term stays need a qualifying basis such as family reunification or work. Visits of up to 90 days in any 180 use the standard Schengen process.

There is no derived dependant status: people visiting together may file one e-service application, but every person must independently meet the requirements, and paper applicants each submit their own application.
