Overview Chinese Studies at Glasgow belongs to a thriving School of Modern Languages and Cultures (SMLC), with a lively research environment and postgraduate community. We have research and teaching collaborations with: colleagues within SMLC our College of Arts & Humanities (History, History of Art) our College of Social Sciences (Education, International Relations, and Politics) These collaborations provide our research students with a potentially unique competence in the area. Proposals We welcome proposals from any area of Chinese Studies, but particular research strengths include: Modern Chinese cultural and intellectual history Intellectual history of Chinese-Western exchanges and transcultural interactions, including transcultural flows of ideas, practices, and material culture Coloniality, postcolonialism, and the politics of knowledge Family and gender Translation studies, incl

Entry requirements

• Our regular standard of admission is at least an Upper Second Class Honours degree (2:1), although candidates will usually also have completed or be undertaking a Masters qualification.
