About this programme

Physics explores the behaviour between matter and energy — from subatomic particles to the scale of the universe. Technology and physics go hand-in-hand, and they improve our lives massively. From computers and architecture to agriculture, modern life is built using the understanding of physics. Studying this field will prepare you to contribute to major advances in technology now and in the future.

Entry requirements

International applicants must hold a secondary-school qualification assessed as equivalent to New Zealand University Entrance. Widely recognised qualifications include the IB Diploma, Cambridge International A-levels, and approved national school-leaving qualifications; where a qualification falls short, UC offers foundation and pathway programmes. Some degrees and majors require specific subjects (for example mathematics or sciences) at the appropriate level. Applicants must also meet UC's English language requirements.
