About this programme

Mathematics is at the forefront of breakthroughs in science, technology, and finance. It has been around for over 4,000 years and is still an innovative subject with new ideas, techniques, and theories constantly being created, tested, and explored. Being a mathematician puts you one step ahead in preparing for the technological advances of the coming generation.

Entry requirements

International applicants must hold a secondary-school qualification assessed as equivalent to New Zealand University Entrance. Widely recognised qualifications include the IB Diploma, Cambridge International A-levels, and approved national school-leaving qualifications; where a qualification falls short, UC offers foundation and pathway programmes. Some degrees and majors require specific subjects (for example mathematics or sciences) at the appropriate level. Applicants must also meet UC's English language requirements.
