Chemistry deals with the composition, structure, and behaviour of atoms and molecules that make up all forms of matter. Understanding the world at an atomic level helps us see how things are interconnected and work together. A degree in Chemistry prepares you for a dynamic industry, addressing major global challenges.
International applicants must hold a secondary-school qualification assessed as equivalent to New Zealand University Entrance. Widely recognised qualifications include the IB Diploma, Cambridge International A-levels, and approved national school-leaving qualifications; where a qualification falls short, UC offers foundation and pathway programmes. Some degrees and majors require specific subjects (for example mathematics or sciences) at the appropriate level. Applicants must also meet UC's English language requirements.
