Our BSc Education Studies degree explores how education can contribute towards changing societies and individuals. You'll discover how learning happens at all ages, from the earliest years of childhood to adulthood.You'll learn about education in a wide range of settings, from schools and universities to online communities, social movements, workplaces and care homes. As you progress, you'll develop expertise in UK education and will study global, international and comparative educational perspectives.The course currently includes an optional placement unit, Education in Practice. Here, you can apply your learning and gain valuable workplace experience through a placement in a:schoolcharitable organisationbusinessmuseumcommunity groupresearch setting.Our BSc Education Studies degree offers a broad foundation in educational theory, policy and practice. It prepares you for a variety of careers in the education sector and beyond. While it doesn't directly qualify students for classroom teaching without further qualifications, it opens pathways in areas like:educational consultancycurriculum designpolicy analysisadministrative roles in schools or not-for-profit education organisations.You'll also be able to work in training and development, community education or international organisations focused on education.
