Who it is for

• The Award is available each year to a prospective international student who:is enrolling full-time in a program of study for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Astronomy & Astrophysics based in the Research School of Astronomy & Astrophysics,
• and is and remains an international student,has a demonstrated track record of significant research that contributes to the field of Astronomy & Astrophysics.Enrolment in the PhD program must be undertaken in the year the Award is granted.SelectionThe Award will be offered for Excellence in Research in the previous one year period -1 July through
• 30 June - or part thereof during which the student was enrolled in the PhD program at RSAA.The Selection Committee will consider the information provided in the RSAA Scholarship Committe and Annual Progress Talk (or Proposal Talk) as well as assessing students based on the following criteria:Originality and feasibility of the research,Impact,
• or potential for impact, in the relevant research field,Research achievements and accomplishments (e.g., submitted or published refereed papers, conference presentations), andGood citizenship and engagement with the RSAA and wider community (e.g., outreach activities,
• committee representation).The committee will take into account any program leave of absence.The committee will seek to distribute the awards to students at different levels (e.g., one award for students who have completed up to one year of program, one for students who have completed between one and two years of program,
• and one for students who completed two and three years of program by June 30), but reserves the right to revise the distribution.
